MINGGU SAINS NEGARA

The organization of the National Science Week (MSN) continues with the aim of fostering school students' interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in an effort to develop high-skilled talent to achieve the nation's high-technology goals by 2030.

According to the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Tuan Chang Lih Kang, the implementation of the National Science Week (MSN) is in line with the aspirations of the Prime Minister as well as Malaysia MADANI's agenda to focus on STEM fields to create talent in line with the rapid development of science, technology, and innovation, thus meeting the needs of industries, especially in emerging technology sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, blockchain, big data, and so on.

MSN 2024 was officially launched on April 2, 2024, and will take place nationwide in a hybrid format involving both carnival-style events and online activities until October 2024. With the theme "Popularizing Science, Ennobling Technology, and Democratizing Innovation," this year's MSN targets the participation of 600,000 school students, higher education students, and the general public in activities and competitions based on seven (7) main focus areas: Planetary Health, Chemistry and Biotechnology, Safe Nuclear Applications, Social Innovation, Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Nanotechnology, and Space.
